Jacob is the son of Lynetta Edwards and Albert Lacy and he has one brother, Jeremiah. He is a member of Sharon 7th Day Adventist Church. The most influential person in Jacob’s life is Charmyst Amie. Jacob is a 3rd year returning Letterman playing as Wide Receiver. He is ranked as #10 Receiver in the state and #36 in the nation. One of Jacob’s favorite memories as a member of REL team is winning State Championship of 2004, and his aspirations for 2006 is to go back to state. Jerry is the son of Keatha Moore, and has one younger brother and 2 sisters. Jerry is entering his first playing on REL football team, playing on the offensive line as a Receiver. Blocking is what he does best on the football field and he considers his strength as having the ability to catch the ball. As a 2-year Letterman for REL basketball team, Jerry has received honors earning Defensive player of the year 1st Team All District. One of Jerry’s college teams that he looks at the most is USC and his favorite mascot is the Texas Longhorns. History is his favorite subject in school and he says being a Red Raider has taught him to stay focused. He considers his mom and Alan Johnson as the most influential people in his life and he admires Terrell Owens as an athlete because of his quickness. Joshua, a 1-year returning letterman, is the son of Ruthie Battee. He is the youngest of one brother, Byron and one sister, Nacole. Joshua is a member of Berry’s Temple. In addition to football, Joshua has been on the track team for three years. The most influential people in his life are his Mother and the coaches. His favorite subject is Math and he enjoys music. Modeling is what Joshua considers to be his best non-athletic talent. Joshua’s plan for the future is to be successful. His academic goal is to graduate high school. Adrian, a 2-year returning letterman, is the son of Rene’e Christopher and Robert Beard Sr. and Curtis Christopher. He is the youngest of two brothers and one sister. His stats include: 80 tackles, 4 fumble recoveries, and 2 forced fumbles. His football honors include being named “Honorable Mention” for the 2005 season. In addition to football, Adrian is also a 3-year letterman in track. Adrian’s extracurricular activities include: Student Senate for 4 years, member of the French Club for 3 years, and FCA. He is a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he is an usher. The most influential people in his life are his Mom, Step-dad, coaches and some teachers. Daniel is the son of Shiralette Broussard and he has three brothers and three sisters. He is a member of Omega Ministries International and actively involved on the Praise Team. His favorite subject is World History and his interests and hobbies include: reading, singing, attending church, and hanging out with friends. His academic and career goals are to attend Florida State or Duke, make it in sports and become an Orthodontist. His life goal is to become successful in whatever he chooses to do. Avery, a 1-year returning letterman, is the son of Belyndia Floyd and Michael Bush and Charlie Floyd. He is the younger of one brother, Michael. His best non-athletic talent and interests/hobbies include building and construction. History is his favorite subject. Tekerrein, a 2-year letterman, returning this season to play free safety, is the son of Donald and Debra Cuba. He is the youngest of one brother and two sisters. Tekerrein is a member of Cypress Street Church of Christ, in Gilmer, Texas. His stats include: 82 tackles, 1 interception/defensive touchdown, 2 fumble recoveries, and 3 forced fumbles. Tekerrein’s football honors include: Honorable Mention (2004), 1st Team All-District, rating #1 in State and #3 in the Nation at defensive back (2005), and The Dave Campbell’s Super Team Defense and Top 20 Defensive Backs (2006). His favorite subject is English and his interests and hobbies include church, sports, and music. His extracurricular activities include church, basketball, and a referee for the church basketball team. Playing the bass guitar is his non-athletic talent. Tyler, a 2-year letterman, returning this season to play tight end, is the son of Christa Emery and Gary and Brenda Fleet. He has one half-brother, Tanner and a step-brother and step-sister, Kyle and Kathryn Williams. Tyler is a member of Glenwood Church of Christ where he is active with the youth group and lead singer at youth events. His stats include: 25 catches, 350 yards, 1 touchdown, and one 2-point conversion. His football honors include 2nd Team All-District, 2nd Team All-East-Texas (2005), and Dave Campbell’s Texas Top 300- “Best of the Rest” (2006). In addition to football, Tyler is a 3-year letterman in track. As a junior, he was 2nd in State as a discus thrower, leader of The East Texas Elite in discus, and East Texas Thrower of the Year (2006). Off the field, Tyler is a member of the FCA, Student Senate, French Club, National Honor Society, and 19th out of 600 in his class. His favorite memory as a member of the REL football team is the trip to Ohio and the all you can eat buffet. What he does best on the football field is, ‘tackle and he considers his size to be his strength. Royce’s aspiration for the 2006 football season is to do his part for the team. Royce considers finishing the eleventh grade as his greatest achievement. The one thing he likes most about football is the breaks between practices. Colin is the son of Gayle Steiner and Philip Marsh and Thom Steiner. He has one sister and one brother. The most influential people in his life are his parents. Colin is an active member of the FCA-officer (recruiter), Young Life NHS and also a member at United Marvin Methodist Church while attending Grace on Wednesday nights. When he is not playing football, Colin is on the baseball team. His academic honors include: Top 10% of his class, Whose Who of America, and National Honor Society. His favorite subject is Math and his interests and hobbies include golf and tennis. His plans after graduation are to go to college, major in Broadcast Journalism, and become a sports broadcaster. His funniest football experience of REL is going out to eat as a team in Ohio and leaving the starting and back-up quarterback in the hotel asleep. Cameron’s favorite memory is the plane ride to Ohio and looking at all the nervous faces. The one thing he likes most about football is the feeling of being a part of a team. His number one memory of playing football for R.E.L. is just having fun in the locker room with the team, relaxing before the games, and celebrating afterwards however the outcome, just being able to be apart of it all.
